What to Expect
We offer an English-speaking private guide for the 3-hour tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Your guide will be waiting for you outside Oppio Caffè (Via delle Terme di Tito, 72), holding a sign with your name on it.
From the very beginning, you are transported back in time to the height of the Roman Empire.
As you begin your journey, it helps to understand the magnitude of what you are about to experience.
Ancient Rome was one of the greatest civilizations in history, originating as a small city-state in the 8th century BC. Over centuries, it expanded to dominate Western Europe and the entire Mediterranean, shaping politics, culture, architecture, and daily life in ways that still influence the world today.
Though the empire declined in the 5th century, its legacy remains astonishingly present.
The area you are about to explore is the very heart of this ancient world.
From Via dei Fori Imperiali, where the vast ruins of the Roman Forum stretch before you, to the Colosseum and the legendary Palatine Hill, this is where Rome was born, ruled, and transformed into an empire.
What makes Rome truly unique is that its history is not confined to the past.
Ancient ruins appear everywhere, often in the most unexpected places — beneath streets, inside buildings, and alongside modern life — creating a city where past and present exist side by side.
Then, suddenly, it appears.
The Colosseum.
Majestic. Timeless. Unforgettable.
An enduring symbol of Rome and a masterpiece of ancient engineering.
As you step inside, your guide will lead you through its ancient arches and corridors, revealing the stories behind the spectacles that once took place here — gladiators, emperors, and thousands of spectators gathered in an arena that defined an era.
Here, history is not distant — it becomes real.
You can almost hear the roar of the crowd, feel the intensity of the arena, and imagine the lives that once unfolded within these walls.
Your journey continues into the Roman Forum, once the political, religious, and social center of Ancient Rome.
Walking along its ancient paths, you will discover temples, basilicas, and public spaces where decisions were made, ceremonies were held, and everyday Roman life unfolded.
As your guide brings these ruins to life, the Forum transforms from stone into story — a vivid reconstruction of a civilization that shaped the world.
This is not just a visit.
This is a journey into the heart of Ancient Rome — powerful, immersive, and unforgettable.
