What to Expect
We offer an English speaking driver who can provide transportation but highly recommend adding a private guide for a more memorable experience. A private guide is available for the two hour tour of Pompeii and the two hour tour of Herculaneum. Your driver will be waiting in the hotel lobby, or at a convenient meeting point, holding a sign with your name.
Leaving Rome behind, your journey takes you south toward one of the most extraordinary chapters of human history, where the story of ancient Rome is preserved in remarkable detail.
Your experience begins in Pompeii, one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. Once a thriving Roman city, it was buried under volcanic ash after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD and remained hidden for centuries. Today, it stands as a vast open-air museum where you can walk through streets, villas, temples, baths, and marketplaces, experiencing the scale and structure of ancient urban life.
As you move through the ruins, you will encounter frescoes, mosaics, inscriptions, and everyday objects, offering a powerful and emotional connection to a civilization that existed more than 2,000 years ago. Pompeii is dramatic, expansive, and deeply moving — a city captured in a single moment in time.
Your journey continues to Herculaneum, where the experience becomes more intimate and even more detailed.
Unlike Pompeii, Herculaneum was buried under volcanic mud, which preserved the city in extraordinary condition. Here, you will discover wooden doors, furniture, balconies, and even organic materials, providing a rare and vivid insight into daily Roman life. Walking through Herculaneum feels personal — as if the city was only recently abandoned.
Together, Pompeii and Herculaneum create a complete and unforgettable experience — one revealing the grandeur and scale of ancient Rome, the other its refinement, detail, and humanity.
Throughout the day, your experience remains flexible and enriching, allowing you to explore both sites at your own pace.
At times, it is about contrast.
The vastness of Pompeii.
The intimacy of Herculaneum.
The story of a civilization preserved forever.
At the end of your journey, sit back and relax as your driver takes you comfortably back.
This is not just a tour.
This is ancient Rome brought back to life.
