From here, your journey unfolds along scenic paths that gradually lead you away from the lakeside and into a quieter, more elevated landscape.

As you move through nature, your destination begins to reveal itself. Perched on a limestone ledge of the Sasso San Martino, the Church of San Martino appears almost suspended above the lake, creating one of the most striking views in the area.

The path rises gently through natural surroundings, following historic trails that connect the landscape to its past. With every step, the views begin to open, offering changing perspectives over the lake and the surrounding mountains.

Despite its dramatic position, the church is reached through a pleasant and rewarding walk, allowing you to fully enjoy the silence, the atmosphere, and the sense of distance from the more visited areas.

At the top, the reward is unforgettable. A breathtaking panorama unfolds before you, with Lake Como stretching out in vivid colors beneath your feet.

What you need to have during the hike

Appropriate equipment is essential to fully enjoy a day outdoors.

Each participant is required to bring:

• Suitable trekking footwear, preferably with Vibram-type soles. Proper footwear is required for uneven or steep paths
• A backpack
• A waterproof and windproof jacket
• Comfortable clothing suitable for movement and the season
• A change of clothing (such as underwear, thermal layer, and socks)
• Gloves and headgear for colder weather, as well as a sun hat, sunglasses, suncream, lip balm, and insect repellent
• A rain cover for the backpack
• Drinks (approximately 1 liter per person)
• Energy bars, food, or snacks

Physical level required

The hike takes place mainly on well-marked paths, alleys, and mule tracks without significant technical difficulty. Some sections may include uphill or downhill stretches typical of a natural and mountainous environment.

The experience is suitable for anyone in good health, with a basic level of fitness and the ability to walk comfortably over varied terrain. Running shoes with lug soles are allowed.
