Together, you will enjoy a pleasant walk to the pier and board a public ferry, beginning a scenic crossing of Lake Como toward the opposite shore.

As you arrive, your destination reveals itself dramatically. Perched on a limestone ledge of the Sasso San Martino, the Church of San Martino appears almost suspended above the lake, creating one of the most striking views in the area.

From here, your path begins to rise gently through nature. The walk unfolds along scenic trails, where each step brings you closer to a place that feels both remote and deeply connected to the landscape.

Despite its remarkable position, the church is reached through a pleasant and rewarding walk, allowing you to fully appreciate the silence, the surroundings, and the changing perspectives over the lake.

What you need to have during the hike

Appropriate equipment is essential to fully enjoy a day outdoors.

Each participant is required to bring:

• Suitable trekking footwear, preferably with Vibram-type soles. Proper footwear is required for uneven or steep paths
• A backpack
• A waterproof and windproof jacket
• Comfortable clothing suitable for movement and the season
• A change of clothing (such as underwear, thermal layer, and socks)
• Gloves and headgear for colder weather, as well as a sun hat, sunglasses, suncream, lip balm, and insect repellent
• A rain cover for the backpack
• Drinks (approximately 1 liter per person)
• Energy bars, food, or snacks

Physical level required

The hike takes place mainly on well-marked paths, alleys, and mule tracks without significant technical difficulty. Some sections may include uphill or downhill stretches typical of a natural and mountainous environment.

The experience is suitable for anyone in good health, with a basic level of fitness and the ability to walk comfortably over varied terrain. Running shoes with lug soles are allowed.
