What to Expect
We provide an English-speaking driver for your transportation and highly recommend adding a private guide for a more enriching and memorable experience. A private guide is available for the full day or for a 2-hour tour of the Royal Palace of Caserta and a 2-hour tour of Herculaneum. Your driver will be waiting for you at your port of arrival, holding a sign with your name on it.

Caserta
Caserta The Royal Palace of Caserta is now a World Heritage Site and was originally built for the Bourbon Royal family. The construction of the Palace began in 1752 and took over 90 years to complete. Caserta was considered to be a safe location for the Royal Palace as it was out of range of Vesuvius and could not be attacked by sea pirates. Built to rival the palaces of Versailles and Madrid, it was used as a base for the Allied Forces during World War II. The Palace was more recently used as a film location for the movie, “Star Wars Episode II – Attack of the Clones”.

Herculaneum
The smaller sister of Pompeii, is a destination for lovers of beauty. Visitors to the ancient city have the rare opportunity to see perfectly intact patrician villas. A miracle of preservation where even the wood and ropes of the 2000 year old city are on display, along with stunning brick work, mosaics, and frescos. The detail with which Herculaneum has been preserved is remarkable considering the violence of the 500 C° volcanic flows which ravaged the city.
