What to Expect
We offer an English-speaking driver who can provide transportation, but we highly recommend adding a private guide for a more memorable experience. A private guide is available for the entire day or for a two-hour tour of the Paestum Archaeological Park. Your driver will be waiting for you at your port of arrival, holding a sign with your name on it.
As you leave the port behind, the landscape begins to open into wide countryside, where traditions are still deeply rooted in the land.
Your experience begins at a local buffalo farm, where time slows down and authenticity takes center stage.
Here, you are welcomed into a world where craftsmanship, nature, and tradition come together in perfect harmony.
As you walk through the estate, you will see the buffalo up close, observe the daily rhythm of the farm, and discover how one of Italy’s most beloved products is created.
This is not just a visit.
It is a sensory experience.
The sounds of the farm.
The scent of fresh milk and countryside air.
The quiet balance between nature and human skill.
You will learn about the production of buffalo mozzarella, made using time-honored methods and the highest quality raw ingredients.
You may also explore small artisan workshops, where traditional techniques bring everyday objects to life through handcrafted pieces inspired by rural heritage.
The experience culminates in one of the most memorable moments of your day:
A tasting of freshly made buffalo mozzarella, along with other local specialties such as ricotta, yogurt, and artisanal products.
Simple. Pure. Unforgettable.
From here, your journey continues into the ancient past.
You arrive at Paestum, one of the most remarkable archaeological sites in Italy, originally founded by the Greeks around 600 BC under the name Poseidonia.
Suddenly, the landscape changes — and history rises before you.
Three majestic Doric temples dominate the site, standing among the best-preserved ancient Greek structures in the world:
-
The Basilica (Temple of Hera)
-
The Temple of Athena
-
The Temple of Poseidon
Walking among these temples, you are not simply observing ruins — you are stepping into a civilization that shaped the foundations of Western culture.
Rediscovered in the 18th century, Paestum quickly became a highlight of the Grand Tour, inspiring travelers, artists, and writers such as Goethe.
Throughout the day, your experience remains relaxed and flexible, allowing you to fully enjoy both the cultural and culinary aspects of the region.
At times, it’s about contrast.
From the simplicity of the land
to the grandeur of ancient history.
At the end of your journey, sit back and relax as your driver takes you comfortably back to Salerno’s port.
This is not just a tour.
This is a journey through taste, tradition, and time.
