What To Expect

For a truly comfortable and personalized experience in Sicily, we offer transportation in a private Mercedes minivan with an English-speaking driver for up to 8 guests, or a private Mercedes minibus with driver and English-speaking guide for larger groups. Your driver or guide will be waiting for you at your port of arrival, holding a sign with your name for easy recognition.

Your journey begins in Palermo, the vibrant capital of Sicily and a city shaped by centuries of Arab, Norman, Byzantine, and Baroque influences. Your first stop will be the impressive Palermo Cathedral, where you can admire the resting place of several kings and queens of Sicily and appreciate the extraordinary architectural styles that reflect the island’s rich and diverse history.

You will then continue to the Palazzo dei Normanni (Royal Palace) to visit the breathtaking Palatine Chapel, one of the most extraordinary monuments of medieval Europe. Commissioned by Roger II in 1132, the chapel is renowned for its dazzling Byzantine mosaics, intricate woodwork, and the remarkable fusion of Norman, Arab, and Byzantine artistic traditions.

From Palermo, you will drive to the charming hilltop town of Monreale, overlooking the city and the surrounding valley. Here you will visit the magnificent Monreale Cathedral, considered one of the most beautiful Norman churches in the world.

Inside, the cathedral is illuminated by stunning golden mosaics depicting scenes from the Bible, completed for King William II in 1182 using more than 2,200 kilograms of pure gold. Adjacent to the cathedral, you may also explore the peaceful Benedictine cloister, where elegant arches rest upon 228 intricately carved marble columns, each uniquely decorated.

Following the visit, you will have some free time to explore, shop, or simply enjoy the atmosphere of Palermo before returning comfortably to the port, arriving in plenty of time for your cruise departure.

This tour is carefully scheduled according to your ship’s arrival and departure times, ensuring a relaxed experience and a timely return to your ship.
